On 10th March 2017, the Network of National Contact Points SiS.net2 in collaboration with the European Commission, organized a brokerage event on new call for proposals Science With And For Society (SWAFS). The purpose of these calls is to build effective cooperation between science and society, to recruit new talent for science and to pair scientific excellence with social awareness and responsibility.

The event covered discussion topics such as Responsible Research and Innovation, defined as the right to provide all social actors (researchers, citizens, policy makers, businesses, third sector organizations, etc.) the ability to work together during the entire process of research and innovation, in order to better align both the process and its outcomes with the values, the needs and expectations of European society.

The participants came from 27 different countries and the event proved to be a great opportunity to gather contacts and engage with researchers, representatives of civil society organizations, NGOs, professionals and policy makers.
